CRUK Relay For Life is a team fundraising walk where team members take turns walking around a track for 12 hours.
Team Registration is now open, where you will be able to register a team for Relay For Life on Saturday 25th May 2024
CRUK Relay For Life is a team fundraising walk where either full teams or individual team members take turns walking around a specified track for a marathon 12 hour period, from 12 noon – 12 midnight.
Each team is requested to have at least one member on the track at all times, signifying that cancer never sleeps.
The Relay is aimed at people of all ages and abilities, with suggested team sizes of 7–15 people in each team.
Outwith the Relay night, teams are encouraged to hold various fundraising events and sell Relay for Life, Shetland raffle tickets (supplied to each team) in the lead up to the Relay, in order to raise funds for Cancer Research UK.
Each team registered will receive a detailed team pack with full information from the team Chair - contactable at [email protected]
All monies raised by your team will go towards your team total with, this year, all funds raised via the Relay and its various satellite events remaining in Scotland to fund cancer research here.
The Relay is not only a focused opportunity to remember those lost to cancer and celebrate those who are survivors of the disease, but also an enjoyable social occasion too – as are the many other individual events which, together, go toward making up Shetland’s hugely successful biennial Relay event.
Team Captains bring together friends, family or colleagues – why not get bairns involved too? The captain is then the main point of contact between the team and the committee. All correspondence from the committee will be sent to this person, who should ensure that the information is then distributed to all team members.
Team Captains must be over 18, but anyone of any age and ability can join your team once registered.
It’s worth setting a team goal, then leading your team to fundraising success.
Do you already know a team captain? No matter how old you are or whatever your ability, you can join a team and together you can raise money to help beat cancer sooner. Why not encourage others to do the same and watch your fundraising totals grow!
